Stepper Motors
Produced by our Advanced Manufacturing
Division, Fraen’s stepper motor utilizes a patented
electromagnetic circuit design and is intended for use within an
instrument cluster to drive a gage indicator needle. A two-phase motor
with a 90 degree shift between phases, it possesses a permanent magnet in
the rotor that features 5 pole pairs around its perimeter, equally spaced
at 36 degrees apart. The motor uses two 6:1 gear reductions to provide a
36:1 reduction from the rotor to the output shaft.
